Can you share what phone/ROM you’re using? This is the menu you get when you’re using a stock Android ROM (taken on a Pixel XL running Android 7.1). It’s possible that a third-party added an animation slider, but that doesn’t seem to be the default case.

You might be right, but I that may be something that has to be enabled by the app itself. Similar to how an app has to designate when a text field is a password (so the keyboard behaves differently), this may be a feature that apps need to specify they want from the keyboard. That would make sense since the GIF APIs Read more

And before anyone attempts to go on a long rebuttal using reasoned thinking to frame their argument, just remember that the only reason you’re doing so is because you had an emotional response to what I said and you feel like it’s diminishing something about you and you feel defensive - you will have already played

It’s pretty easy to miss since it’s after the headline, but as the very first paragraph of this article states, developer options only allows you to increase the speed to 0.5. You can’t enter an arbitrary number like 0.75. ADB commands allow you to do this. Read more

I appreciate your honesty. I feel like discussions about movie theaters would be a lot easier if everyone admitted they’re complaining about specific bad experiences. I love movie theaters, but I’ve definitely had a few bad outings. Read more

Oh, you sweet summer child. A lot of the ones near me have revamped to add this, but in ye olden times, most theaters I ever went to (and some still) don’t have reserved seating. Half the reason lines would wind around the block before a movie premiere was because if you didn’t get there early, you didn’t get a good Read more

Personally, I totally agree (which is also why I don’t see a $600+ price tag as that bad). I’m keeping my 6P because there’s just not a big enough jump for me to spend any amount of money on upgrading. Read more

Um? In what world are expensive phones only for enthusiasts? The opposite is almost universally true. The enthusiast community touts the $300-400 Nexuses or the One Pluses as the best-of-the-best. Meanwhile the average phone buyer is picking up a $600+ Galaxy or iPhone. The Galaxy and iPhone lines are consistently the Read more

Nothing’s ever gonna compare to monkey-fighting snakes on a Monday-to-Friday plane.

The sidewalk is rarely utilized for bicycles because it is rarely legal for them to do so. In most states, bicycles are legally vehicles. And it is illegal to use your vehicle on the sidewalk. What you are suggesting is akin to saying “The PC elites may disagree, but traffic would be a lot lighter if cars just hopped Read more

I can’t express how true this is. When I totaled my car a while back, they tried to give me several thousand dollars less than what my car was worth on the market. No matter what their first offer is, do your research. In concept, at least, the idea of a payout is to pay you enough money that you would be made whole. Read more
