Fair point, and I’ve amended the post. In my defense, it’s very easy to drop the “A” and the Echo still picks up “lexa.” Blame my latent southern drawl. Read more

This happened to me for a long time. Enjoy it while it lasts. Comcast never bothered to fix mine until I started having connection problems (and then it swung too far into over-tracking), but hey those months where I wasn’t constantly getting hit with data cap reminders were nice. Read more
Neat idea, though depending on how thick the cable needs to be, this might not be possible without throwing off the balance of the cube. Right now, when I run the cable from the cube to my wall, the cube rests nicely on its side. If the cable were coming out of a corner, either the cable would have to be at an angle… Read more
I describe several scenarios in the post, but one option if you want to use all five, as I mentioned, is to put the plug with the largest power block on the bottom. The cube will then rest on that. Other than that, yes, it is hard to use all five faces simultaneously. Read more

The Hololens was....sort of mentioned? Microsoft keeps demoing it, but also it’s kind of unclear where Hololens ends and generic VR begins. Like, they showed a guy in a VR simulation of a beachfront house, watching sports on a virtual TV wall, then walking over to a “shelf” of his apps (literally giant icons sitting… Read more

Off topic but if you’re looking at them, I’d also check out the Philips Hue. I bought both for testing and man so far I’m pretty impressed with the Hue. The WeMo switch I mentioned is just an outlet so it will work with anything that plugs into the wall, but Hue is specifically for lights and it really excels at that.… Read more
